The hair products sector is still a cornerstone for the economy of the entire cosmetics industry. As a result, the professional channel's economic value is expected to grow, with +4% in 2022 and +3% in 2023.
Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna dedicates an exclusive event to the hair-care market: On Hair turns the spotlight on the best international teams, master hairstylists and leading companies in the industry.
Eighteen selected artistic teams presented their inspirations and projects in a show made up of trends, fashion and entertainment.
Today the need for lightness and simplicity favours hairstyles fitting a broader target of consumers, customised to the client's needs and personality. However, the importance of the hairdresser's craftsmanship and expertise cannot be overlooked: it's, in fact, the hairstylist who, with elegance and refinement, must now more than ever be able to dialogue with the customer, helping them express their best image of themself.
Here are exclusive tips from the hairstylists at On Hair By Cosmoprof!
Egidio Borri for Wella said that on stage, he combined his creativity with the ability to listen to the customer's needs for a balanced and customised look. Mario Firriolo for Wella also focused on wearability for an elegant and natural result, opting for enticing cuts and light, fresh colours.
Gianni Rando for Alfarparf Milano was inspired by Parisian sophistication and elegance. "A 'mainstream' look can become 'exclusive' just by including a simple detail".
"I think it is wonderful to be able to return to the On Hair stage after this long period of closure. It marks a restart for all of us," said Mimmo Laserra; in collaboration with Maletti Group, he presented Eden Collection, where nature and femininity meet in new geometries and colours.
Rudy Mostarda for Extrema Hair also opted for sun-kissed and soft hair. "With our show, we wanted to emphasise the value of customisation without neglecting a touch of couture because the hairstylist is indeed an artist. We want to express creativity combined with technique and know-how," he stated.
Andrew Smith for Z.ONE Concept International Artistic Team presented a show with two souls, a more classical and a more artistic one. "We played with the name of the collection, Harmony, to build a harmony between nature and economically sustainable objects, imagining our client wanting to play with fabrics or objects she has at home, and then using her hands for her look," said Smith.
On the On Hair stage, men's fashion also took centre stage.
GAMMA + con Josh Lamonaca brought flair and creativity to the stage. "Over the past 24 months, Gamma + has created a new generation of essential tools for the modern barber," emphasised Valter Sartori, the company's Chief Sales Officer. "I have always looked for something in shows that could be helpful in everyday life. I believe that Cosmoprof should be functional to the hairdressers' business, which is why we bring something to the stage that can always be replicated in the salon." stated Mauro Galzignato for Kemon.
